RuggaMatrix – Show 056 – The Christmas Show
RuggaMatrix_-_Show_056_-_The_Christmas_Show.mp3
This is our Christmas Show with special guest Lote Tuqiri and Peter Hewat like you’ve never heard them before. It’s our last show for 2009 but we’ll be back in two weeks to tackle the all the big issues of 2010.
Ewen McKenzie and Les Kiss take a well earned rest while we engage in some serious but mostly light-hearted banter between Lote and Pete.
It’s Lote’s most extensive interview since taking up his contract with Leicester so hear what he has to say about playing for the Tigers, eye gouging, his future and a host of other subjects.
The last quarter of the show is really a bar chat between a couple of good friends. (This is a disclaimer I guess)
And don’t forget it’s your last chance before December 25 to get 20% off your associate membership when you buy a coaching manual from bobwyerrugby.com.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to one and all.
Team RuggaMatrix.
Happy New Year to the Ruggamatrix team! Your efforts in 2009 were awesome and I reckon 2010 will be better. Keep up the great shows…
Just read about ARU allowing Melbourne up to 10 foreigners for 2011. Great move, it will certainly make them more competitive from the start while reducing the strain on current teams. But the current teams will still be saying good bye to some valuable squad members who decide to move to Melbourne. Hopefully the 10 foreigners will be joined by a few Aussies currently contracted in Europe along with some exciting up and coming juniors…
There was talk about adding Argentina into the SANZAR Intl comp in 2012. Since there is no professional domestic comp in Argentina, their Intl quality players are nearly all playing in Europe. This will be complicated for an expanded Tri-Nations tournament given the playing window overlaps with European comps.
How about SANZAR allow, even encourage, every Super 15 team to have two Argentinian’s on their roster? That will give a professional rugby opportunity to up to 30 players, which could then form the Argentinian squad for the Four Nations tournament. Not only would it make the Four Nations viable, it would improve the player depth across the Super tournament and therefore it should improve the overall quality of the Super Rugby product.
What does the Ruggamatrix panel think? It should certainly upset a few power brokers in Europe…
