RuggaMatrix breaks new ground this week with Ewen McKenzie’s exclusive review of Invictus, the inspirational film about the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
In the real world we hammer Les Kiss over his Six Nations squad and we ask him your questions about the players left out.
The Heineken Cup is massive this weekend so what better way to prepare than downloading Show 058 of RuggaMatrix.
We go through the major matches and discuss the possibilities.
Super Rugby trials begin this weekend and we take a look at the season ahead.
Our IN DEPTH ANALYSIS this week is VIDEO ANALYSIS – TRAINING.
As video capture and replay technology improves we look at the value of on-field video review during training.
The idea isn’t new but the rapid improvements in screen technologies could see teams at all levels adopting real time review and correction.
RuggaMatrix – Show 029 – Hanging Up the Boots

There’s Test action everywhere this week and we cover it all in episode 029.
The Lions are about to face South Africa in the First Test, France is looking to beat the All Blacks again and the Wallabies are taking on Italty in Melbourne. We take a long hard look at all campaigns going on in the south right now.
To the north we check in with Les Kiss and the Churchill Cup which will be decided between England and Ireland this weekend.
Our special guest star is former Newport Gwent Dragons centre Marc Stcherbina who tells the story of his forced retirement as a result of a neck injury.
He suffered the injury against Toulouse in December but retired officially this month. Stcherbina is well known in Europe having also played with Cardiff Blues, Northampton, Biarritz and the Waratahs in Sydney before heading overseas.

He’s the man the whole world is talking about and he’s on RuggaMatrix for Episode 023 – The Rock.
Leinster flanker Rocky Elsom joins the full panel this week to talk about the Heineken Cup final series and life in general in Ireland. Elsom’s immediate future had not yet been decided but he’s keen to play for the Wallabies when the Test programme resumes in June. He spends a good 40 minutes with the panel discussing a range of issues that span the globe. Will he stay or will he go after the Heineken Cup Final? He was pretty tight-lipped but we had a crack anyway.
Find out what he thinks of his Leinster teammates and a whole lot more including a summary of Leinster’s win over Munster at the weekend. And what about that Cardiff v Leicester shoot-out in the other semifinal? Lots to talk about indeed.
Following the Elsom interview we look at the final stages of the Super 14 in the southern hemisphere. The Hurricanes v Chiefs is the stand out clash for the weekend ahead.
Our subject for in-depth analysis this week is CATCH AND PASS.
Why has the most basic skill dramatically fallen away in quality in many our professional teams? The panel throws up some reasons for it and offers solutions.
RuggaMatrix – Show 021 – Cardiff Calling

RuggaMatrix goes into the Cardiff Blues camp this week for a revealing chat with backs coach Bill Millard. It’s our first look inside the Welsh system and a thoroughly enjoyable one too.
Millard is a product of the Australian Rugby system leading outfits like Sydney University, the Australian Sevens and Melbourne Rebels in the 2007 Australian Rugby Championship. The Blues take on Leicester Tigers on Sunday in the second semifinal of the Heineken Cup at Millennium Stadium.
On Saturday Croke Park will play host to the battle of the Irish big guns Munster v Leinster.
We look at the British and Irish Lions before checking out the Super 14 table with three rounds to play and also cast an eye across the USA Super League which is nearing the play-offs and our man in New York, Bruce McLane is all over it.
Our in-depth analysis subject this week isĀ RECRUITMENT.
It’s the number one coaching issue for Ewen McKenzie and with Bruce McLane the pair mount a powerful argument for it being the top agenda item in the back room. Les Kiss gets the night off after being down under for a few weeks.
